Su Chef App Can Turn Almost Anyone Into a Cook Beth Snyder December 9, 2013 I don’t know if this happens to you, but even though I cook I find myself standing in the middle of my kitchen at least a few times a month trying to figure out what on earth I’m making for dinner. Usually that’s when I make up a new recipe, and almost always it involves the fact that I have some fruit or vegetable or meat that needs to be cooked or thrown out. Usually, I can come up with something, but I know there are many folks out there for whom cooking isn’t necessarily a thing they enjoy, and this app is for those people. Who knows? You might even get good at it. Su Chef is an iPhone app (not available for Android, unfortunately), that allows you to input ingredients you have, and it comes up with recipes you can make using them. You can do a general search, or you can choose search parameters based on diet such as low calorie, high proten, vegetarian, etc. In addition, recipes can be sorted with exclusions to accommodate allergies such as nut or shellfish. You type the ingredients in, or scan them, or speak their name, and Su Chef searches through its collection of more than 100,000 recipes. Odds are pretty good there’ll be something in there you think sounds good that you can actually manage to make. The neat thing is you can also create shopping lists based on recipes you may have seen elsewhere, so you don’t ever find yourself standing in the grocery store trying to remember if you needed balsamic or red wine vinegar (I chose that as an example because I currently own two bottles of balsamic and no red wine because I forgot to write it down). Su Chef is available in the App Store for just $1.99 US. Source: Red Ferret Share This With The World!
