Padholdr Cardboard Booth Grabs Attention at CES 2014 Dylan Duarte January 10, 2014 Extras When I first read the headline “Cardboard Booth steals the attention of CES”, I thought that maybe it wasn’t referring to the Consumer Electronics Show, but some other convention; perhaps the Cat Electronics Show. A convention full of cats would explain all of the interest in a cardboard box. No, these were real humans, and they were really fascinated by this box. To be fair, the box in question is pretty awesome. It’s the Padholdr booth, a booth that was made entirely from cardboard. While other companies spend absurd amounts of cash in an effort to create the fanciest booth with the highest tech, Padholdr took another direction. According to founder Jim Benham, the booth was designed to reflect their philosophy towards technology: innovative, efficient, eco-friendly, and awesome. Four cardboard walls, two arched entries, a marquee with their logo, and a cardboard kiosk, all put together in four hours with zero tools, weighing only 400 lbs, 100% biodegradable, and broken down in ten minutes. Yeah, that’s pretty awesome.
