Get your wallets out and then sadly put them back when you realize you’re broke. Over in Germany at their Gamescom 2013 press event, Sony announced that their newest console, the PlayStation 4, is scheduled to hit North America on November 15th and Europe and Latin America a couple weeks later on November 29th.

Sony has been pretty generous with details over the past few months so gamers have a pretty good idea of what their $399 will be buying. Sony expects the PlayStation 4 to be available in 32 countries by the end of the holiday season, and if that sounds overly ambitious, consider the one million preorders they’ve already racked up.

Now attention has shifted to Microsoft, whose Xbox One is still without a release date. We do know that Microsoft’s newest console will retail for $499, a substantial $100 more than the PlayStation 4, so maybe they can offset that disadvantage with a strategically placed release date.
