Michael Patcher Speculates on PS4 and Xbox One Launch Prices Dylan Duarte June 5, 2013 The Sony PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One have both been revealed, along with various details regarding each console. One detail that has yet to be revealed, unsurprisingly, is what we can expect to pay. There’s been plenty of speculation. Amazon Germany listed the Xbox One for 599 euros, or $770USD, which seems way off. Analyst Michael Patcher has weighed in on the pricing debate, putting the PS4 at $349, fifty bucks less than the Xbox One’s $399 speculation. He attributes this price different to production costs, which he estimates are $275 for Sony and $325 for Microsoft. I don’t know if Patcher is taking into consideration that both companies have sold new consoles at a loss in the past in order to ensure a large user base. If Patcher is correct in his speculation, both companies would be making a profit right out of the gate, and they could see that as an unnecessary risk. via Geek Share This With The World!
