You Can Own James Bond’s Submarine Car for $1,000,000 Dylan Duarte October 20, 2014 Extras We’ve all been there. You watch Mad Men and you buy yourself a 1960s-era pocket watch to give yourself a cool Don Draper vibe. You watch Game of Thrones and you buy a stainless steel replica of Oathkeeper to give yourself the strength and resolve of Brienne of Tarth. You watch The Spy Who Loved Me and spend a million dollars on a 1977 Lotus Espirit S1 sportscar that’s been modified to resemble a submarine so you can command the respect that James Bond commands. Wait, no, that last one only applies to Elon Musk. However, you can join the ranks of Musk if you have that aforementioned $1,000,000 lying around. Hot Rod City, a vintage car restoration and resale shop in Las Vegas, is selling one of the remaining prop Lotus Espirit models on eBay. Before you get too excited, not only does it not actually transform into a working submarine, but it isn’t even street legal. Still, it’s an impressive piece of motion picture history and could make an impressive collectible for die hard James Bond fans. Elon Musk reportedly plans to modify his model so that it can actually turn into a functional submarine, so maybe you and him can compare notes or something. via The Verge Share This With The World!
