MKBHD Tours the Tesla Factory with Elon Musk Michael Kwan August 21, 2018 News If you’ve been following the tech world these last few years and you enjoy watching YouTube videos, you’re likely already familiar with “MKBHD” Marques Brownlee. This guy puts out some of the best smartphone videos on the web today. He’s knowledgeable, insightful and entertaining. But if there is perhaps one area where he is almost as passionate as he is about smartphones, it’s electric cars. And that’s why it’s such a treat seeing him get a Tesla factory tour with the one and only Elon Musk. [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr9kK0_7x08] If you’re expecting some groundbreaking new revelations about the Tesla Model 3 and why you haven’t received yours yet, you might feel a little disappointed with this Tesla factory tour. You have to remember that Elon Musk is literally an open book when it comes to his Tesla dealings. No secrets. What is neat, though, is getting a bit of a glimpse into Elon’s head space and how all those cogs fit together. As he was talking about what it would take to speed up production on the Model 3, for instance, he said that it’s thousands of little things and not really any one big thing. If we can adjust the torque settings here, we could shave a couple seconds off the production line, for instance. The insight into why “smart” robots aren’t always ideal and why he loves “dumb” robots that much more was interesting, as was his demonstration of what tasks are better performed by humans what tasks are better performed by robots. You can tell that Elon Musk is incredibly passionate about what he does (and he is a certifiable genius); you can also see just how scatterbrains he can be (and understandably so). So, with all of that said, would you want a matte black Model 3 if it meant that you’d never really be able to repair tiny nicks and scratches? Share This With The World!1 1Share
