Xiaomi Mi Pad Attacks Tablet Market with Easter Colors Dylan Duarte May 16, 2014 I’m constantly yammering on about how much I love budget phones and that frugal admiration definitely extends to budget tablets. China-based company Xiaomi has announced their first ever tablet, the Mi Pad, and boy does it look like an iPad mini. Easter colors aside, the Mi Pad’s aesthetic clearly borrows heavily from Apple’s miniature tablet. Given how pretty Apple’s products are, you can’t really blame them. The two variations of the tablet will only cost 1,499 and 1,999 Yuan, which is roughly $240 and $270 USD. They both come packing a 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1535 resolution (again, like the iPad mini!), a 2.2GHz quad-core Tegra K1 processor, a 192-core GPU, 2GB RAM, microSD support, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and a 6700mAh battery. The difference in internal storage between the two models is 16GB and 64GB. Consumers in China will reportedly be able to try out the Mi Pad in beta form some time next month. An international launch date has not been announced yet and may or may not ever happen at all. Check out the video below to see some of what the Mi Pad has to offer. It’ll be really interesting to see how the Mi Pad fares, given it boasts some pretty impressive specs for such a low price. Hopefully the tablet makes it way to North America, though nothing is for certain at this point. via BGR Share This With The World!
