Withings Aura May Actually Bring Rest to the Weary Beth Snyder January 26, 2014 It is becoming increasingly common for people to have issues with sleep. Whether the problem is not being able to fall asleep, waking up repeatedly throughout the night, or not being able to sleep for long periods of time, it can be debilitating. Withings is looking at a new way of helping with the problem, and it seems like they might be on to something good. The Withings Aura not only monitors your sleep patterns, but it may well be able to help you improve them. It discretely records your sleeping environment, letting you know some of the things that may be causing you problems, but of which you had previously been unaware. It also relies on light and sound patterns backed up by scientific study which will help improve both your sleeping and waking up experience, which in turn can positively impact your entire life. Sounds good, doesn’t it? The sleep sensor is a pad that slips under your mattress (you won’t even know it’s there), and then sends information to the bedside monitor. The two units work together to monitor a wide variety of factors, including light, sound, sleeping position, room temperature, and other factors that all can have a huge, even if consciously unnoticed, effect on the quality of your sleep. Using all the information gathered, the Aura then adapts itself to your personal body clock to provide you with soothing light and sound for both sleeping and waking. Withings Aura is not available just yet, but is planned for release later this spring at a cost of $299.00 US, with a free connected app. I’m definitely going to look into this, because my sleep patterns are nothing if not erratic. That’s really a very reasonable price for a good night’s sleep, especially if it can provide one on a regular basis. Source: Coolest Gadgets Share This With The World!
