Is anyone not familiar with Pelican cases? In the entertainment industry, we use them for about a million things, ranging from A/V racks to monitors to projector lenses to sound boards to flat screen TVs. Last year, they came out with a case specifically for protecting your tablet or netbook, and now they’ve gone a step further. This year’s addition to the family is a Pelican wallet, and I want one. Right now.

The Pelican Smart Wallet is a mini case for your cash, credit cards, and all the other stuff you would normally carry in a wallet. At first, you might be thinking, who cares if my wallet gets bent? It’s not like the cash will spend differently. And I would have to agree. But what about the waterproof factor? See, now you’ve got to think, don’t you? I’m guessing you probably carry a couple of pictures around, either of your wife, or husband, or child, or dog…whatever or whoever is close to your heart. Ever had your wallet get wet, either from a rainstorm or because you forgot to take your wallet out before you headed out to the beach? Remember what happened to those pictures? Yeah, you want this too now, don’t you?

It’s not submersible, so it’s not entirely waterproof, but it is water-resistant and honestly, unless you’re planning on going swimming with your wallet in your pocket, most instances in which this would get wet it’s going to stop the water from ruining your pictures. And of course being a Pelican it is also crush-proof. It opens like a book, and inside of each half is a mesh sleeve to secure your belongings. It measures 5.55 x 3.27 x 0.85 inches (14.1 x 8.3 x 2.2 cm) and closes with the standard Pelican latch.

These are available now for $29.99 US.
