As if geeking out with a Darth Vader Wii Sensor Bar Holder isn’t geeky enough, you can geek out with just a dash of nostalgia. Well, it’s not that nostalgic, because it’s the Nintendo GameCube. That’s only one generation ago, but there you are.

Considering that your Nintendo Wii is perfectly capable of playing GameCube games, you don’t really need your GameCube anymore. So, why not convert it into a desktop organizer caddy.

That’s what once creative person decided to do on Etsy. They gutted out a GameCube of all its electronic components, repurposing the older console as a place to stash your desktop stuff. The front becomes a (small-ish) drawer for your stuff and the disc area has a metal plate for smaller stuff. They’ve also drilled out the Power and Reset buttons so that they can be used as pen holders.

The quirky handle in the back can be used to hang on to your cell phone (or something similar), while the air vents are magnetized to hold paper clips and such too. Is this a waste of a gaming console? Yeah maybe, but it’s still pretty geek chic, don’t you think?

Pick up the purple version on Etsy for $39. If you want to splurge, for an extra ten bucks, you can get the black or platinum version instead.
