Toast Your Team With ePint Beth Snyder October 27, 2015 Extras October is a fine time for sports, at least in my world. There is baseball’s World Series, American football is well underway (both college and NFL), and my beloved hockey has finally begun after a several month hiatus. Whenever possible, I prefer to head to my favourite tavern to watch a game. It’s more fun for me to watch a game with a large group of similarly-minded people, and there is always someone rooting for the other team to make it interesting. Usually it’s pretty obvious if you’re watching a game with someone who supports a team other than your own, and the rivalries can get pretty intense. Which is where ePint comes into play. What better way to show your support for your team, even if you happen to have stepped away for a minute, than to have a beer mug that lights up with your team’s colour when they score? That’s what ePint does, of course. It’s a breakage resistant polycarbonate mug featuring a rechargeable battery, multicolour LEDs, and Bluetooth LE wireless technology. As an added bonus, there’s a stainless steel bottle opener in the bottom of the ePint so you never have to worry about finding an opener again (assuming you’re using it somewhere other than a bar). In a nutshell, how it works is the ePint mug is paired with a free app, which then tracks the game you’re watching. When your favourite team scores, ePint will light up with their colour. Not only can you celebrate when the score happens, but it’ll also be handy for those times when you looked away for a second and missed the big play (that happens to me all the time). In addition to the score, ePint has a sensor that will tell it when your glass is empty, and when it gets refilled it’ll glow to let your friends know you’re ready for more imbibing. You can even pair multiple ePint mugs with the app! There’s a lot more to it, so for details you should head over to their Kickstarter page. With roughly five weeks left, they are woefully short of their funding goal. If you’d like to get one, you’ll need to pledge at least $30.00 US… a savings of 50% off their projected retail cost.
