More than once, I have extolled the virtues of Cooler Master. I have been a fan of their products since I built my first computer almost 20 years ago. And then I purchased a NotePal LapAir Notebook Cooling Pad. It was great for three months, and then it died. It took CM well over a week to respond to my RMA request. After I shipped it, they took a little over two weeks to acknowledge receipt. According to their written policy, replacement items will ship 2-7 business days from date of acknowledged receipt. Tuesday I called them, because it had been 10 business days since their acknowledgement with no response, and the status showed “testing”. Supposedly, they were out of stock and couldn’t ship one (and also couldn’t send an email telling me that). But, and here’s where a miracle happens, just that very day when I called them, they had gotten more in stock! Imagine the coincidence! They promised to ship a replacement via UPS 3 Day Select, which means it should arrive at my house tomorrow. I’m not holding my breath, as they didn’t ship it until well after close of business on Wednesday. This whole experience has soured me considerably on their customer service, and I probably will not be buying anything else from them again. I will, however, have a great deal of fun filling out their customer satisfaction survey.
