Roku continues to be one of the most popular and most robust streaming audio and video solutions around. It’s just so convenient to add one of the thousands of “channels” to satiate your desire for online entertainment and now you’ve got an even more convenient way to watch and listen. A new set of RCA Roku TV offerings have now been unleashed with pricing starting as low as $299.99 Canadian.

The main appeal of going with a RCA Roku TV like this is that you don’t need to pick up one of the company’s set top boxes in order to leverage the full Roku experience. Yes, there are other smart TVs out there, but the Roku software offers a great deal of choice, options and user-friendly features that you won’t find anywhere else.

It’s been a couple of years since we looked at the Sharp Roku TV, which works in fundamentally the same kind of way. In the case of the new RCA Roku TV family, you get the Roku TV platform for access to over 4,000 channels and over 100,000 movies and TV episodes in Canada. The advanced search features allow you to look across multiple services for exactly the entertainment you desire.

“We are excited to make our mark once again on the TV landscape,” said Claire Villeneuve, head of trademark licensing for Technicolor, which owns the RCA Brand. “TV viewing habits are changing and streaming is becoming the norm. RCA’s partnership with Roku allows us to offer our customers a fantastic, yet affordable smart TV with amazing content choices, on one of the most robust smart TV platforms available.”

In addition to all the online streaming, you also get a built-in TV tuner, the ability to create a list of favorite channels, plus access to a Live TV Pause feature (which is especially handy during sporting events). Like other Roku devices, these new TVs can also be controlled via the free Roku mobile app for iOS or Android.

The new RCA Roku TV consists of a 32-inch HD model for $299.99 MSRP, a 43-inch full HD model at $469.99 MSRP, and a 50-inch full HD model for $599.99. That’s the Canadian pricing and you’ll find them available now on Amazon.ca and Walmart.ca.
