Kidnap Victim Finds Way Home Using Google Maps Dylan Duarte May 18, 2013 This almost brought a tear to my cold, dead eyes, which means it’s the perfect story to bring about the perfect end to a happy weekend. Luo Gong was kidnapped when he was only five years old and taken over a 1,000 miles away from his home, where he spent the last 23 years of his life. His only memory of his home was a pair of bridges. Fortunately, with technology like Google Maps, that can sometimes be enough. Luo discovered a website dedicated to locating missing children and posted a rough map of the area he grew up in, which was then spotted by a volunteer, who informed Luo that a family from Guangan City had a son kidnapped 23 years ago. Luo then used this information to look up the city on Google Maps, where he eventually found his old neighborhood – thanks to the pair of bridges. Hug your loved ones tight and maybe teach the little ones about Google Maps. via The Verge Share This With The World!
