The Internet Arcade Lets You Play 900 Classic Games in Your Browser Dylan Duarte November 3, 2014 It’s a very good time to be a fan of videogames. I’m not saying that because the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition just hit (though if you picked it up, enjoy!), but because the team behind the JSMESS emulator just coded a new project called the Internet Arcade, which lets you play 900 different coin-operated arcade games right in your browser. Now that I’m officially an old man, I’d like all you kids to take your Halos and your Maddens and leave me alone so I can play Q-Bert and Root Beer Tapper. Joking aside, there are plenty of games in this collection that I don’t even recognize, but that just makes it all the more exciting. There are a few caveats, though. There doesn’t seem to be any controller support and I imagine not all the games play well with a keyboard. There are no instruction manuals, either, so you’ll have to figure the games out on your own. Most of the games from that era are self-explanatory, but you may run into something more complicated. As of the time of this writing, the Internet Arcade site is down for scheduled maintenance, but I’m sure that won’t last too long. via The Verge Share This With The World!
