First Aid: It’s Not Just For Injuries Any More Beth Snyder February 5, 2012 If you’re a seasoned traveler, there are two things you are never without: a first aid kit and your device charger(s). If you’re not a seasoned traveler, trust me on this…you may not always need a first aid kit, but when you do there won’t be time to go find one or buy one. The device charger(s) is a no-brainer. But then you run into the ever-increasing problem of having to carry way too many things, to the point where even if you’re just going overnight you end up hauling at least two bags with you. Sucks, doesn’t it? Especially with airlines charging extra for checked bags, and severely limiting what is allowed as a carry-on. Potencia may have a solution for you. This concept piece combines a first aid kit with a charger, so you can cut down on at least one thing you would normally carry around (more, if you normally have several device chargers). Of course, this isn’t really geared toward the casual traveler, but rather toward those working in natural (or unnatural) disaster areas, but it would still be handy to have. This fully-stocked first aid kit also contains an emergency power supply, capable of not only charging phones and laptops, but also able to provide electricity for other things such as lights as well. The kit is made of steel and composite plastic, and will also feature luminescent strips so it’s easy to find if your power suddenly cuts out. It will contain a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, but there is no word on how long the battery will last on a charge. In case you were wondering, this is still a concept piece. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on the market relatively soon, especially with the number of earthquakes we’ve been experiencing recently. Source: Ubergizmo Share This With The World!
