Fidget Spinners Explode Now Dylan Duarte June 29, 2017 News You know what’s even cooler than a Bluetooth-enabled fidget spinner that plays music? A Bluetooth-enabled fidget spinner that plays music and explodes. Wait, no, that’s not cool, that’s terrifying. What was once a stress reliever is now very much a source of stress. Two of the aforementioned fidget spinners exploded while they were charging in two separate incidents, one in Michigan and one in Alabama, and had only been charging for 30 and 45 minutes, respectively. One exploded while it was charging on the kitchen counter, leaving scorch marks, while the other was on carpet, where it could have very easily led to a house fire had the quick-thinking kid not thrown it into the sink and doused it with water. From what I can tell, the two gadgets didn’t come from the same company, but they both likely suffered from being hastily-assembled and rushed out to catch the fidget spinner hype. At least one of them didn’t come with instructions on how to charge it, nor did it come with a charge cable, so the owner used the cable that charges her baby monitor. Be careful with cheaply-made products that contain batteries. Sometimes it’s worth the premium to purchase something from a recognizable brand. Share This With The World!
