Ford F-150 Trucks Being Investigated Over Engine Issues Dylan Duarte May 27, 2013 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will be looking into reports that certain Ford F-150 pickup trucks have been losing power after accelerating. The issue reportedly happens most often when driving in humid or wet conditions and when already traveling at highway speeds. There have been 95 reports, though the administration claims that 400,000 trucks manufactured between 2011 and 2013 are at risk. Ford’s EcoBoost technology is supposedly to blame and multiple lawsuits spanning several states have already been filed. The lawsuit claims that the technology is defective. EcoBoost refers to Ford’s new engines that provide a turbocharged performance when heavy acceleration is applied, only in these cases that heavy acceleration and subsequent transition is causing some sort of malfunction. Fortunately, no accidents have been reported due to this. Ford is cooperating with the NHTSA. via Slashgear Share This With The World!
