Facebook Now Averages Over 1 Billion Users Daily Dylan Duarte November 4, 2015 News Think social media is going anywhere? Think again. There was a period where it did look like Facebook’s popularity was waning, but now the opposite is true: Mark Zuckerberg’s 11-year-old baby now averages over 1 billion active users every single day. The milestone was actually hit during this past summer, but it’s now consistent. The number is technically 1.01 billion, and that’s up 17 percent over this same quarter in 2014. Unsurprisingly, its share price went up, as Facebook earned $4.5 billion in revenue and $1.46 billion in profit for the third quarter. Mobile now accounts for 78 percent of all advertising dollars spent. I could be cynical and make a crack about 1 billion quiz posts or 1 billion pictures of food (though to be fair that’s more of an Instagram thing now, which is owned by Facebook), but instead I’ll focus on how remarkable it is that over 1 billion people are now directly or tangentially connected on the same website. That’s pretty amazing, even if there are more “What Circus Animal Are You?” -type posts than we would all like. Share This With The World!
