More 4-Inch iPhone 6c Rumors from KGI Securities Michael Kwan November 4, 2015 News As popular as the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus may be, not everyone wants to have a smartphone quite that large. For a while, the alternative was to opt for the all-plastic iPhone 5c…. but where is the 4-inch iPhone 6c to complete this current lineup? KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently issued a report that highlights what he is predicting for the smaller iPhone, including a release in the first half of next year. We already learned earlier this year that the oft-rumored 4-inch iPhone 6c would not be coming out this year, so Kuo’s prediction simply follows that line of thought. Similarly, rumors dropped earlier this year that the smaller iPhone would abandon the plastic casing of its 5c predecessor in favor of a metal housing instead. Kuo believes this will hold up as well. But what else can we know about the new 4-inch iPhone? It’s not just a smaller screen that will differentiate the iPhone 6c from its bigger cousins, because this screen will lack the 3D Touch functionality featured in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. However, it will get the same Apple A9 chip to power the iOS 9 or even iOS 10 experience. As far as the next full generation, Kuo predicts that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will both get a new Apple A10 chip, while the bigger model will get upgraded from 2GB to 3GB of RAM for added flagship performance.
