End USB Cord Fumbling With Buffalo’s New USB Hub Beth Snyder March 1, 2012 As the attached graphs show, while the odds of inserting a USB cord the right way the first time are 50/50, reality says we all get it right maybe 10% of the time if we’re really lucky. Even though you know which way it has to go in your particular computer or hub, you still do it wrong. It’s one of those Murphy’s Law kind of things, but we all just deal with it. Now, we may not have to, and I couldn’t be more excited about this one. How it works is really pretty simple: you insert your USB plug into the hub, and it doesn’t matter which way you’ve got it turned, it works. No muss, no fuss. Brilliant! The hub will be available in black, blue, white or pink, and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, or 7 in addition to Mac OSX 10.2 and up. It provides you with four ports, which might not be enough for some folks, but having four ports that will accept a USB plug no matter which way you have it turned is, for me, worth its weight in gold. The best part is you don’t have to break the bank to get one. The hub will cost a mere $23.00 US (1,806yen). It’s not quite clear if it’s available or not (I can’t read Japanese, and auto-translators are not so effective sometimes), but it should be soon. Source: Red Ferret Share This With The World!
