As concepts go, this is a pretty darn fine one. Imagine how much easier, convenient, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective it would be if you could charge your phone just by breathing? Well, if Joao Paulo Lammoglia has his way, it will be. This is one of those projects I really hope comes to fruition, because it definitely has a place in the world.

AIRE is, as I said, a concept at the moment, so there is no word on possible availability or cost. But the idea here is that you wear a mask that hooks to your iPhone’s charging port, and then your breath is converted to electricity to charge your phone. The mask features tiny wind turbines, so it makes sense that this would work. I would imagine that the amount of electricity produced will depend on how hard you are breathing (get your mind out of the gutter). But since we all breathe at all times, you can wear the mask while you sleep, work, jog…whatever, and it will charge your phone.

Hopefully, this one will not be just an idea for too long.
