Better Bathroom Sharing the Fresh Air Plus Way Beth Snyder August 22, 2014 One of the distinct disadvantages to sharing a home with others is having to also share a bathroom. It’s not that we don’t all know everybody does it; it’s that walking in after someone else has been there for a while doing their business is unpleasant at best. Sure, there are air fresheners, drops you can put in the toilet before you go, and vent fans, but those don’t necessarily work or they leave a tell-tale scent behind (although admittedly it is better than the scent you’re covering up). Fresh Air Plus would like to change how we all use the bathroom. What you get is a replacement toilet seat with an vent fan built right in, which helps eliminate odors before they fill the room. And it doesn’t require any extra effort on your part; simply sitting down on the seat will turn the fan on and you’re good to go (pun definitely intended). The fan draw odors through a vent tube, which ideally leads to the outdoors to prevent said odors from accumulating in your bathroom. You don’t even have to replace your toilet, just replace your existing seat with the Fresh Air Plus. There is a little bit of work involved, however. As I said, ideally it will vent to the outside, and it also requires plugging in. But once you’ve got it installed, all embarrassment or awkwardness involved in using the bathroom after another person is gone. No word on pricing or availability yet, but the Fresh Air Plus is supposed to be seeking funding on Kickstarter soon.
