Walmart Stops Carrying Amazon Kindle Tablets and Ereaders Dylan Duarte September 21, 2012 Following in the footsteps of Target, Walmart has announced that they will no longer be selling any of Amazon’s Kindle tablets or ereaders. The Amazon devices simply aren’t retailer-friendly as it’s hard to compete with Amazon’s slim profit margins or their wildly successful sales numbers. Devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Apple iPad are a different story and retailers still stand to make a profit off of those. This of course means that Walmart will miss out on the holiday rush to pick up the new Kindle Fire HD. With two large chains no longer selling Kindle products, this adds fuel to the speculation that Amazon may be opening their own brick and mortar stores where consumers can try out Kindles before they buy them. As someone who buys his goods predominately off of Amazon, I can understand Walmart’s decision. It doesn’t make any sense for me to trek all the way to Walmart for larger retail items when i can have them delivered right to me and usually for cheaper. Of course, now that Amazon is charging sales tax in California that margin has slimmed, but the retailer is still worthy of my business. via Talk Android Share This With The World!
