It’s time again for one of my favourite things: A LEGO Showcase! This time around, we’re going to concentrate on vehicle playsets. Whether they are modeled after vehicles found in movies or in real life, these playsets are sure to make every LEGO aficionado happy.

The first one (seen above) makes me very happy indeed! If you don’t recognize it, I’m not sure we can be friends. It’s Benny’s spaceship from the LEGO Movie, of course. I love Benny, and I was so happy for him when he finally got to build his spaceship. It comes with 940 pieces, and is recommended for kids at least nine years old. Pick one up for about $111.00 US.

Next up, also from the LEGO Movie, is the Trash Chomper. This one has 389 pieces, and is recommended for people at least eight years old. Along with the pieces to build Chomper, you get three minifigs: Garbage Man Grant, Garbage Man Dan and the chef, Gordon Zola. This one is a little more affordable (but not as cool as Benny’s spaceship) at about $45.00 US.

Moving on to LEGO Superheroes, this is the Superheroes Darkseid Invasion playset. It has 545 pieces, including three exclusive, all-new minifigs: Cyborg, Hawkman and Darkseid. The Hover Destroyer measures 2″ (6cm) high, 5″ (13cm) long and 4″ (12cm) wide, while the Javenlin spaceship measures 2″ (7cm) high (wings down) or 3″ (10cm) high (wings up), 13″ (35cm) long and 7″ (18cm) wide. Cost is around $60.00 US.

LEGO Superheroes The Shield Helicarrier! If you’ve got a huge pile of disposable income burning a hole in your pocket, then you should pick this one up. It’s got a whopping 2,996 pieces, and is recommended for ages 16 and up. There’s more stuff than I have time to list here, but it is pretty darn amazing. About that disposable income… you’ll have to shell out a little more than $450.00 US to add one of these to your collection.

I’ll close this one out with a real-world pickup truck. It has enough detail it almost looks like if it was bigger you could actually drive it. Not only does it have fully independent suspension, tipping bed, sturdy grill guard with working winch, opening doors and front steering, it also can be rebuilt into a Forest Skidder. The Pickup Truck measures 7″ high, 16″ long and 7″ wide while the Forest Skidder measures 6″ high, 18″ long and 6″ wide. Drive one home for around $100.00 US.
