USB Bed Risers Kill Two Birds With One Stone Beth Snyder July 15, 2013 There are a wide variety of reasons you might want to raise your bed up several inches from its current position. Maybe you want to increase your storage space. Maybe you want to avoid critters that could climb into bed with you via your dangling blankets. Maybe you have a hard time getting in and out at its current height. But whatever the reason, if you’ve priced bed risers lately, you’ve probably found a reason to use something else you already have (cinder blocks are popular) rather than buying a set. But what if your bed risers offered you more than just height? These do. This set of bed risers from Bed, Bath & Beyond not only raise your bed up seven inches in height, but one of them also provides you with two 110-volt, 15-amp grounded power outlets, as well as twin USB 5-volt DC outlets. The powered riser has a six-foot cord, which should reach the nearest outlet to whichever leg you’ve placed it under. Me, I’d want a set of four that each had the capability of charging my devices and/or powering my alarm clock. But nothing is stopping me from buying more than one set, I suppose. Each set of four risers costs just $25.00 US, so if you were to buy more than one set you could probably package the remaining risers in sets of four and resell them. The one thing I wonder, though, is if they work if you use them only on the head of the bed…those of you with acid reflux or breathing issues probably need the head of your bed higher than the foot. I’m thinking it depends on what type of bed frame you have. At any rate, these are pretty neat, and not very expensive. I’d think it’d be worth picking up a set if you were already in the market for bed risers. Or if you wanted to replace those cinder blocks you keep trying to hide behind the blanket when you have guests. Source: Gizmodo Share This With The World!
