Home workshops have kind of gone the way of the dodo bird, yet there are still several people who feel they should have one. Of course, most of you reading this probably have a workshop that more involves jewelers’ screwdrivers and soldering irons rather than hammers and saws, but the concept is still the same. And the frustration at having to dig through a toolbox or drawer (in my world, it’s a canvas toolbag) to find just the one necessary for the job is definitely the same.

Sure, you could put up some pegboard and hang everything from it…but then not everything hangs neatly from hooks, and you have to go to the trouble of cutting it to fit your space, putting it up, and then figuring out where you want everything to go. Not to mention if you’re renting, you may not be allowed to put the necessary anchors in your wall to hold the whole thing up.

The answer? Tool Dots! They are actually little round magnets that stick to your wall however you want to place them, and then they hold your tools there. That’s all there is to it. Each one will support up to 1/2 pound (0.23kg) of weight, so you may need more than one per tool depending on how big they are.

Each one measures just 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) in diameter, and they come a dozen at a time. They each have a piece of peel-off backing to hold them in place, so installation is a breeze. They even come in three colours (black, white and clear) so they’ll either blend in or stand out when not holding tools depending on your preference. Need to hang something non-metallic up? No problem! Just attach a metal washer to the back and you’re good to go.

Each set of twelve runs just $11.95 US, so pick up a few and let the organization begin!
