A Second, Rounder LG Smartwatch is on the Way Dylan Duarte August 25, 2014 If the only thing preventing you from picking up the LG G Watch was its square design, then boy do I have good news for you. The company is already working on its second smartwatch, this time with a circular design. Squares are for squares, apparently. Motorola is releasing the Moto 360 – their circular smartwatch – in early September, but LG is already attacking Motorola for their watch’s lack of perfect roundness. The Moto 360 features a small window at the bottom of the face for displaying information and this window causes a flat edge that ruins what LG apparently thinks should be a perfect circle. LG isn’t making the same mistake, however, and their display has no such window. The LG Smartwatch casing features external lugs, which just add to the already traditional design. Rumors say the round-faced LG smartwatch will be sold as the LG G Watch R. Expect more details, likely all of them, at IFA 2014, which takes place from September 5 to September 10 in Berlin. If you scroll down you can check out a quick promo video that LG released to promote the upcoming watch. I expect the watch to be available not long after IFA, which will make the smartwatch market even more crowded then it already is. This is an odd move considering that we don’t yet know how popular smartwatches will even be. Hopefully this new LG smartwatch will find a place among those looking for a more traditional-looking timepiece. via Tech Crunch Share This With The World!
