Let’s be honest, gaming memory isn’t always the best-looking. Often, the standard green PCB modules get quasi-cool looking heat spreaders with colorful stickers and the word “extreme” somewhere in the description. Patriot Memory decided enough was enough and has announced Intel XMP 1.3 Certified gaming memory that not only looks awesome but brings the frequencies befitting a true extreme gaming system.

The new limited edition Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Memory supports the latest dual channel and quad channel DDR3 Intel platforms. The IEM capacities are 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. Frequencies start at 1600MHz, 1866MHz, and 2133MHz at 1.5 volts. These are the best, most reliable frequencies for gaming systems. Naturally, the kits offer default 9-9-9-27 timings which means the fastest kits can be clocked down to support lower CAS latencies for even more performance.

Under the hood of the attractive IEM spreaders are the ICs from the new Viper 3 Series which launches first in sexy black. Another unique approach is that the new Viper 3 kits will also be available in different colors (jungle green, sapphire blue, crimson red), which hint to their corresponding features. Expect new frequencies all the way up to realm of 2600MHz insanity. Note: We’ve added a few more Viper 3 photos to the gallery so you can plan your next purchase. No confirmation on which color will be the fastest.

Keep in mind the IEM memory is limited edition and won’t be offered after May 2013. So if you’re looking for something new and unique that few others have, you best jump on the Check Out button quickly. There’s no telling exactly when the fab will stop making them.
