NVIDIA Reveals New Tegra K1 Platform Dylan Duarte January 6, 2014 I’ve got to give major kudos to NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang who, despite being sick, still took the stage at CES 2014. He did so to reveal the new Tegra K1 platform, which will bring the “heart of GeForce and the soul of Tesla” to mobile devices. The Tegra K1 will ship with the same quad-core A15 design as the Tegra 4, but NVIDIA will also be shipping a version with a dual core NVIDIA Denver CPU. NVIDIA having an ARM part with full 64-bit support will expedite the process of developers getting their games onto mobile devices. As someone who’s been gaming since the Atari days, it’s been nothing less than amazing watching graphic capabilities evolve over the years, especially on mobile devices. I almost feel sorry for those born into a world where photorealistic 3D graphics were already the norm.
