Nissan NV200 to be Next NYC Taxi Cab Dylan Duarte April 3, 2012 The Nissan NV200 has won the prestigious achievement of being crowned New York City’s next taxi cab. The new design will be officially revealed today, but don’t expect to see these puppies driving around NYC until October of next year. It’s not pretty, to say the least, but I’m a practical man and I can respect the minivan’s practical benefits. Nissan is adding a few special features for the taxi model, including odor-reducing, anti-microbial interior fabric and charging ports for electronic devices. The former should keep you physically well while the latter will help your mental well-being. The cabs will also feature sliding doors, GPS, and floor lights. It’s always been a dream of mine to visit New York City. When that dream finally comes true, I just hope I can find a cab company that still uses the older cab models, and by older models, I mean the “checker” taxis. What’s that? They haven’t used those for fifty years now? via The Verge Share This With The World!
