Microsoft Releasing a $29 Internet-Ready Phone

In the world of cellphones, you’ve got the expensive high-end models, the respectable mid-range ones, the cheap-but-effective budget phones, and now you’ve got this thing, the Nokia 215 from Microsoft.

The Nokia 215 is meant to be an entry phone for those new to mobile devices. It’s Internet-ready and comes with Opera Mini Browser, Bing search, MSN Weather, Twitter, and Facebook, all for only $29. On the hardware side of things it’s got a 2.4-inch, 320 x 240 QVGA display, 11 mAh battery, VGA camera, and up to 32GB of external storage. It all operates on the Nokia Series 30+ OS. There will be both Single SIM and Dual Sim versions of the phone and it will come in green, black, and white when it starts rolling out in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe in Q1 2015.

With the cheap price and the dual SIM capability, this could be the perfect phone to take overseas, because you wouldn’t really care if something happened to it. Scroll down to check out a promotional video for the phone.
