Adventure-Time-Christmas-Jumper

You know what I love? How we’ve managed to turn around a horrible gift that came from well-meaning grandparents so it’s become a fashion statement. I’m talking about Christmas sweaters, of course. My goodness, but I’ve had some pretty special ones over the years, usually bought by one of my grandmothers (but sometimes my mother). This collection fits into the category… mostly… with a twist.

First up, Adventure Time! This jumper has a 36″-40″ chest, or as we call it, “adult medium”, so it’s not for everyone. As you can see, it’s got Finn, Jake, and some of their friends dancing around with snowflakes in the traditional Christmas sweater design. It’s made of a 50/50 cotton/polyester blend, and costs £34.99 (about $55.00 US).

You’re a fan of Street Fighter, you say? Well, there’s a Christmas sweater for you, too! This is a 100% acrylic knitted sweater featuring Street Fighter characters perhaps battling over who gets to open presents first. Or who gets the last crescent roll. Or maybe just battling because that’s what they’re expected to do. Whatever… This one is available in sizes from small to 3XL, with pricing ranging from £37.85 – £39.99 (about $59.00 – $63.00 US).

Doctor-Who-Christmas-Sweater-Shirt

Technically, I’m cheating by including this one since it’s actually a t-shirt printed to look like an ugly Christmas sweater, but how could I not? Dr. Who says Christmas as far as I’m concerned. It’s got Daleks, Weeping Angels, and Cybermen mixed in with snowflakes, and I’m pretty sure I need one. It comes in sizes from small through XXL, and if you pre-order before it starts shipping in December you save a couple of bucks. Pre-order price is £15.99 (about $25.00 US), which is an 11% savings off MSRP.

Finally a green one! I’m not a fan of red, to be honest. But what I definitely am a fan of is Space Invaders! This is a printed sweatshirt rather than a knitted sweater, and it’s available in not just green, but black, red, royal blue, navy blue, and charcoal. Sizes range from small to 3XL, and you can choose a sweatshirt ($24.99 US), long sleeve t-shirt ($19.99 US), or regular short sleeve t-shirt ($15.99 US).

Vader-Sleigh-Ugly-Faux-Sweater

This one is less traditional, and also a printed sweatshirt rather than a knitted sweater. But… Darth Vader as Santa, driving his AT-AT reindeer toward the Death Star! How can you resist? The sweatshirt is made of a 50/50 cotton/polyester blend, and comes in blue only. Sizes range from small through 5XL, at a cost of $35.00 US each.

If for some unfathomable reason that one doesn’t work for you, here’s a more traditional style. Darth Vader appears as Santa here as well, but without the extras that take the last one over the top. This, too, is a printed sweatshirt, but it looks more like a regular sweater with AT-ATs and TIE Fighters nestled amongst the snowflakes in the background. The sweatshirt is 100% acrylic, and comes in sizes from small through 3XL for $56.99 US.

One more Star Wars shirt before we move on. This one is also a printed sweatshirt rather than a knitted sweater, but it’s pretty darn fabulous and its colour scheme says I can wear it to work. You’ve got the Death Star, some TIE fighters, a couple of tauntauns, a bunch of other Rebel ships… and some Christmas trees. What more could you need? Looks like this one only comes in sizes from small to large, but it only costs $25.00 US.

Digital-Dudz-Fireplace-Ugly-Christmas-Sweater

Closing this one out is a sweater that is certainly something else… Who wouldn’t want a yule log burning on their abdomen? This one comes to use from Digital Dudz (is that supposed to be “dudes” or “duds”?), and it’s specially designed to hold your smartphone in a sleeve on the front. Once you download the app and start it playing, just slide your phone into the sweater and everyone around you can enjoy the fire burning on your chest. What could possibly go wrong? The sweater is 100% acrylic, and comes in sizes from small through large. Price ranges from $40.98 – $70.27 US.
