Maxis Rebooting SimCity for 2013 Release Dylan Duarte March 7, 2012 I first played SimCity when it was released for the Super NES in 1991, making me seven years old at the time. In retrospect, I find it weird that I liked it so much. I somehow had more patience as a kid. I grew up with the series and unfortunately stopped playing at some point, though I’m occasionally tempted to give it another go. It looks like the upcoming remake may be the perfect opportunity. Maxis last developed SimCity 4 back in 2003 and since then the series has seen multiple spin-offs from a variety of developers. Well Maxis is taking the series back and is developing the latest game in the series, simply titled “SimCity,” for a 2013 release. And while Will Wright may not be working on it, the team will include veterans familiar with the series. The only details that have been released so far is the inclusion of curvy roads, which fans have reportedly been asking about for years, and a social aspect that will see your city sitting side-by-side with cities of other players. That could definitely be an interesting avenue to explore. via The Verge Share This With The World!
