My niece has been working for a cat rescue operation for a while now, and I really like how it works. Either you can borrow traps from them, or they will come out to get whatever feral cats happen to be around your house, then they are sent to a vet where they are sterilized before being let back out into the wild (unless someone wants to adopt them). Homeless animals are starting to be an even bigger problem lately with the increase in job loss and home foreclosures. I’m not advocating feeding whatever animals may be in your neighbourhood, but today is a good time to at least consider doing something to help curb the problem.
