Half-Life 3 Unofficially Confirmed Dylan Duarte May 23, 2014 News Half-Life 3 Confirmed. That simple phrase, consisting of just three words and a number, has sent the Internet into a tizzy more than a few times, only to lead to disappointment each time. Fans have long been clamoring for a proper follow-up to the critically-acclaimed 2004 shooter Half-Life 2. Their desires were somewhat sated with two pseudo-sequel episodes, but it’s now been seven years since Half-Life 2: Episode Two hit PC and consoles. The longing for a true Half-Life 3 sequel is still there, to be sure, but assumingly sick of having their hearts broken, fans have grown quiet on the subject and stopped begging for confirmation; which is why it’s such a huge deal that Counter-Strike co-creator Minh Le just confirmed it. During a goRGNtv interview, Le was asked the big question and his response was simple: “I think it’s kind of public knowledge that it is being worked on.” He’s right, in a way. While Half-Life 3 has still yet to be officially confirmed, it would be crazy if Valve weren’t pursuing it. You can head over to Slash Gear to hear the full interview, though the Half-Life 3 discussion is only a tiny part, beginning at around 33 minutes and 55 seconds. I guess it’s time to stop using “Half-Life 3 confirmed” as something of a punchline. With the cat out of the bag, hopefully we’ll get an official confirmation soon. Let’s all just pray that this doesn’t turn into another Duke Nukem Forever. Share This With The World!
