As a PC enthusiast, we all know the motto is go big or don’t bother. We all know manufacturers give themselves padding room to ensure lower failure numbers. Well G.Skills decided to live outside the box and release the fastest default clock speeds on RAM you can buy. The new G.Skills quad-channeled Ripjaws for the X79 make everything else before it look like it was going in slow motion.

As with all memory vendors, G.Skills is releasing not a handful of memory kits, but 14 different configurations. These all vary in speed, capacity, price, and some come with dedicated fan coolers. The interesting pieces on the list are the 2133 MHz 64GB (8GB x 8) kit, 2400 MHz 32 GB (8GB x 4) kit, and the 2500 MHz 16 GB (4GB x 4) which are all the faster RAM for their capacity. This is possible at 1.5V, 1.65V, and 1.65V respectively using the new XMP 1.3 profile system.

You may have seen some people overclock their RAM to these kinds of speeds, but when have you seen these speeds guaranteed by the brand? These are the standard speed ratings for these kits. If you are going to build a new system from scratch around a Sandy Bridge-E 6 core/12 Thread processor and a high quality motherboard, why would you settle for anything less than fastest RAM available? More details in the press release below.
