Foodie Dice: Random Meals Never Tasted So Good Beth Snyder March 17, 2014 One thing I actually enjoy is cooking. Sometimes it’s a challenge as I have to make meals that comply with my mother’s very restricted diet, but it’s led me to be very creative in the kitchen and to a Facebook page of recipes I have made (many of them created by me, some from others). However, there are those days. You know those days. You’re standing in your kitchen, knowing your family has to eat, and you can’t think of a thing to make. Often that leads to ordering a pizza, or hitting a drive-thru restaurant, or just heating up some soup. The thing is, I know how to cook, but sometimes my brain needs a jump start in order to get going. Foodie Dice are an interesting way to provide that jump start. What you get is a set of nine wooden dice laser-engraved with various foods. Roll the dice, and make something using the ingredients shown. Obviously you’ll have to work within the ingredients you have, but I can see this being a fun way to plan a week’s menu…then all you have to do is swing by the market and you’re all set. There are five primary dice (protein, cooking method, grain/carb, herb, and bonus ingredient) as well as four seasonal vegetable dice so you can avoid having things like asparagus come up in the dead of winter. If you’re stuck on what to make for dinner, just roll the dice and see what you get. With 186,000 possible combinations, it’ll be really hard for your family to claim they’re bored because you make the same things all the time. You might even come up with some new recipes of your own that become family favourites! The dice come enclosed in an upcycled wine bottle with a large cork stopper for easy and attractive storage. This was originally a Kickstarter project, but they received funding and have gone into production. You can pick up a set now for $50.00 US. Source: Geek Alerts Share This With The World!
