Chinese Hackers Steal Blueprints for U.S. Weapons Systems Dylan Duarte May 28, 2013 According to the Washington Post, Chinese hackers made their way into U.S. defense programs and have stolen blueprints for more than two dozen major U.S. weapons systems. Among what has been stolen are the blueprints for weapons like the advanced Patriot missile, a ballistic missile defense system, and the Black Hawk helicopter. The design for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the most expensive weapons system ever built, was also compromised, according to a report prepared for the Pentagon. This comes after the Defense Science Board, in a report filed in January, warned that the Pentagon is unprepared to counter a full-scale cyber-conflict. This isn’t the first cyber-attack to come from China, and earlier this month the Pentagon specifically accused the Chinese government and military of being responsible for the attacks. What happens next remains to be seen. via Gizmodo Share This With The World!
