Confirmed: Apple Pay Will Launch Officially in Canada Tomorrow Michael Kwan November 16, 2015 News It’s about time, eh? Even though our neighbours (with a “u”) to the south have had the privilege of tapping their iPhones at merchants and retailers for over a year now, we poor Canadians have only been able to do so with workarounds involving American credit cards. As predicted, that will finally be changing tomorrow as Apple Pay will finally launch in an official capacity here in Canada. This happy news comes by way of iPhone in Canada’s Gary Ng. He had the chance to chat with several customer service reps from American Express. The credit card company has partnered with Apple for the Canadian rollout and it will be the initial payment processor for the service. The mobile payments system will be up and running as of tomorrow. From what we can gather, the Canadian support of Apple Pay will be bundled in with the release of iOS 9.2. Last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook did say that Apple Pay will arrive in Canada before year’s end, but he also made mention of Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain and Australia. Where this leaves our Apple Pay-less friends abroad is still up in the tap-to-pay air. Via iPhone in Canada Share This With The World!
