Apple AirPods Just Got a Secret Update Dylan Duarte February 1, 2017 News Thanks to an eagle-eyed Reddit user, we now know that Apple has quietly released the first firmware update for their fancy new wireless AirPods. You can find out if you’ve received the update by checking the firmware version of your AirPods, which should have gone from 3.3.1 to 3.5.1; you can check the version in the settings app on your iPod. Keep in mind that your AirPods have to be connected to your iPod for the accessory to show up in the “About” section of settings. Unfortunately, Apple didn’t release a change log, so we don’t actually know what was updated. In all likelihood it’s just background stuff that honestly won’t even mean anything to most people, but I like to think it’s something secret and insidious, like now your AirPods apply auto-tune to everything you listen to. If you don’t have the evil auto-tune update, just leave your AirPods connected to your iPod and they should update automatically in the very near future. Share This With The World!
