Antec Introduces New Performance Case: P182 Stephen Fung April 11, 2007 Press Release Fremont, CA – April 11, 2007 – Antec, Inc., the leading global brand of high performance computer components for the PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, has released the newest addition to its Performance One line of cases, the P182. Improving on Antec’s best selling P180, the upgraded P182 model has a smooth gun metal black finish and more innovative cooling features for the ultimate in performance cases. To better support water cooling enthusiasts, the case is fitted with grommeted water pipe holes for externally mounted water-cooling radiators. Three TriCool 120mm fans are provided to keep the system running cool and quiet, and an optional middle fan can be positioned to cool VGA cards. In addition, an external fan control for the top and rear fan has been added for easy access to adjust the fan speeds within P182. For the complete do-it-yourself experience, P182 has been created for builders to develop a truly unique computer. P182’s new gun metal black color gives the case a contemporary look, while practical elements like enhanced cable management and easier cable routing improve cooling and increase visual appeal. The case features a separate chamber for the power supply of the system builder’s choice, and eleven drive bays support a wide variety of drives. The double-hinged door opens at 270 degrees for easy access to internal components, while the case is fitted for up to standard ATX motherboards. P182 includes silent computer features as well, so that even with the fans running at higher speeds the case allows for near-silent operation. The three-layer side panels and front door made of aluminum and plastic reduce system-generated noise and make it one of the quietest cases available. The separate chamber for the power supply also aids in reducing system noise, by keeping the power supply cooler and enabling the power supply fan to run at a lower speed. “As part of Antec’s ongoing practice of listening to our customers it became apparent that the P180 could be improved upon. With the feedback we were given we were able to offer these improvements quickly and at no change in price,” said Scott Richards, senior vice president for Antec. “P182 continues Antec’s commitment to silent computing and to our customers, by providing improved cooling features and making it easier to use liquid cooling systems. This makes the P182 the new standard in performance cases.” P182 is available from major retailers, e-tailers and distributors for approximately $169 and is backed by Antec’s Quality 3-Year Warranty.
