Google teamed up with Lucasfilm to give away special Star Wars-themed Google Cardboard headsets. There were four headsets in total – BB-8, R2D2, Kylo Ren, and a First Order Storm Trooper – and even the shipping was free, so unsurprisingly Google ran out of its stock rather quickly.

I know it’s a bit of a bummer to bring you news of awesome free Star Wars Google Cardboard headsets just to tell you that they’re all gone, but I’m hoping that they print more and do it again really soon. If it makes you feel any better, I missed out as well.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens hits theaters in a little less than a week and the marketing machine is going into overdrive. Watching the Sacramento Warriors game on Wednesday, I was baffled by the amount of car commericals that just had Star Wars shoved in there for no rhyme or reason. I’d be angry if it wasn’t so damn effective.

If you head over to the Google Store, you can sign up to their mailing list, so you can be among the first to know when stuff like this happens in the future. And if you have a Google account, you don’t even have to give them your email address!
