ZTE Axon 7 Officially Awesome for Under $500 Unlocked Michael Kwan May 26, 2016 News For some inexplicable reason, if you want to buy a new, high-end flagship smartphone today, you can expect to pay upwards of $1,000 (or even more). What if you could get specs and features that even beat out these phones, but at about half the price? That’s the proposition set forth with the newly revealed ZTE Axon 7. Don’t worry. You didn’t miss out on all the numbers that came before it. The ZTE Axon 7 follows in the quiet tradition set forth by the ZTE Axon and ZTE Axon Pro that came before it, pushing the spec envelope to the next level while keeping the price as low as possible. The official spec sheet released today largely aligns with the leak from earlier this month. ZTE buddied up with the Designworks subsidiary of BMW to design the Axon 7, aiming to provide an all-aluminum construction “inspired” by luxury cars. Under the hood, you’ll find a 5.5-inch AMOLED quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 3140 mAh battery with quick charging, microSDXC card slot, dual speakers, 20MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and the “fastest” fingerprint scanner on the market today. The lower end SKU, set to retail at under $500, comes with an incredible 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. That’s the higher end model on a lot of other phones! Step it up a notch, likely for about $100 more, and you’ll get 128GB of on-board storage with what could be an industry-first 6GB of RAM. It’ll come in your choice of silver or gold, as shown above. Expect the ZTE Axon 7 to hit Amazon, Best Buy and ZTE’s own website in the coming weeks. Via BGR Share This With The World!
