Xiaomi Arch One-Ups Galaxy Note Edge with Dual-Curved Screen Michael Kwan December 29, 2014 In September, we were introduced to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with its “unique curved Edge screen” that effectively wrapped around the right side of the phone. If having the display bend around one edge was good, then having it bend around two edges is even better, right? That seems to be the thinking behind the leaked Xiaomi Arch Android smartphone. Many people have accused Xiaomi of having a bit of a “me too” copycat mentality. Some of its phones bear a striking resemblance to the Apple iPhone series, for instance. This time around, it seems the Chinese company is borrowing some inspiration from Korea. The Xiaomi Arch, as you can see above, effectively has its main display wrap around both the left and right side of the device. Much like the Galaxy Note Edge, these curved portions are primarily for notifications and shortcuts. You’ll also notice that it has soft buttons below the display for menu, home and back, rather than using the on-screen buttons that have become the norm for the most recent builds of Android. Aside from the curved edges on the display, not much else is known about the Xiaomi Arch. Hopefully they’ll have more to tell and show us at CES next month. Via MobileBurn Share This With The World!
