Xbox One Outsells PS4, Mortal Kombat X Sells like Hotcakes, Everything is Awesome Dylan Duarte May 15, 2015 News Since the release of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, Sony’s console has been on top more often than not, but Microsoft pulled out a win in April in hardware sales, despite losing in software sales. The release of Mortal Kombat X helped, but a fatality it was not. As Mike Futter of Game Informer reports, it was a good month of the industry as a whole, with an overall 3 percent rise in sales across everything. Hardware sales were down 4 percent and accessories down 3 percent, but software sales rose 10 percent across all platforms, with the newly released Mortal Kombat leading the pack. Competition is good and the neck-and-neck race between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 will only continue to improve the state of gaming, especially with E3 right around the corner. It’s a good time to be a gamer. I should note that accessory sales are sure to rise after I replace dozens if not hundreds of the controllers I break trying to get through Bloodborne.
