Vivo Xplay 5 Will Have 6GB of RAM Dylan Duarte March 1, 2016 News My smartphone has been more powerful than my desktop PC for a while now, but this is just getting ridiculous. Vivo’s upcoming Xplay will be the first smartphone to use 6GBs of RAM, 50-percent more than the usual 4GBs. I think that may be too many gee-bees, you guys. Of course, this is what Vivo does. They’re trailblazers, but sometimes they blaze trails that don’t need to be blazed. Still, while we may not need 6GB of RAM in a smartphone, it’s a hell of a selling point and it will make the phone stand out from the crowd. What about the rest of the phone? The folks at Vivo have definitely crafted a device worthy of all that random-access memory: 5.4-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera with dual-tone LED flash, 3,600mAh battery, and 128GB of onboard storage. This phone will never see the light of day in the United States, but now that Vivo has produced a phone with this much RAM, expect other companies to follow suit and something like this to be available in the States before too long. That’s just how the business works. Share This With The World!
