“Things don’t just disappear…something takes them.” One of my favourite scenes from one of my favourite shows. On November 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald went down in a storm on Lake Superior. All hands save one were lost. If you’ve spent any amount of time near one of the Great Lakes, or an ocean, you understand the power of water. If you’ve spent any amount of time around Lake Superior, you understand how truly awesome (with every possible connotation) a November storm can be. You might know the Gordon Lightfoot song…it usually shows up on the radio around here several times on this day every year. But it’s not just a song. They were real men. It was a real ship. And Superior does not give up her sailors easily. Rest well, gentlemen.
