When it comes to politics in any way, shape, form, or country, transparency is pretty high on the list of what people want. In an effort to achieve greater transparency, President Obama has ordered major federal agencies to develop apps that will allow Americans greater public and mobile access to taxpayer funded government departments.

“Americans deserve a government that works for them anytime, anywhere, and on any device,” the President in a statement. The agencies are to develop and publish these apps within the next twelve months.

We’ve always known Obama was something of a techie. When he was elected President, they had to pry his Blackberry out of his hands due to security issues, with led to the development of a secure model specifically for him to use. Regardless of your opinion of President Obama, it’s good for any world leader to impress technological progress.
