Rumor: Apple Will Soon Offer Gift Cards to Those Switching Over From Android Dylan Duarte March 17, 2015 News Apple wants your business, and they’re willing to pay for it. I mean that literally. According to 9to5Mac’s unnamed sources, Apple will launch a trade-in program that will allow you to trade in your Android smartphone (and presumably others) towards an Apple gift card. It sounds like their current trade-in program, only expanded to accept devices that aren’t theirs. There are no other details and of course this is still very much a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. That would be quite the power play, though. Apple Watch hype is through the roof and the company seems to be building on that. The Apple Watch and iPhone work in unison, and a recent Ipsos survey showed that there’s interest in the watch even among those who don’t own an iPhone, so it’s not far-fetched to think that they may be buying both at once.
